We’re not quite sure what the weather is up to – one minute it’s cold, the next it’s muggy – but with these long dark evenings, we know that it’s time for a spot of comfort food!
As both Nigel Slater’s recent article about comfort food and Fiona Beckett’s blog post on the healing power of pie attest, there is something special about food that makes the world seem a much better place once we’ve eaten. Both these articles are worth reading as they really come from the heart.
We couldn’t agree more with Nigel when he says, “Could it just be that the real comfort is not only in the food but also to be found in the actual cooking. Kneading, stirring, mixing, can all be decidedly therapeutic.”
Would you like to learn to cook comfort food? We have two spaces on our Winter Comfort Foods class on Saturday 14th November to give away. Just enter your details below to be in with a chance of winning…
